Common Uses For an Angle Grinder

Common Uses For an Angle Grinder

Did you know that an angle grinder can be used for a large variety of different DIY tasks? Most people associate this power tool with the act of cutting, something that it is very well equipped to do and is very good at. However, it can also be used for other purposes:

Sanding: A sanding disc has a plastic backing with a rough fibre padding. This turns any angle grinder into a very efficient sanding machine for any surface. This tool is not very useful for sanding the final layer, since it will leave a circular mark on the material. Paint removal: This disc is very handy for any times where you need to gently sand metal that has flecks of paint on the surface. By using one of these sponge pads, the underlying metal can be left unmarked. The downside to using these types of discs is that they wear out quickly while using them. Best used for delicate jobs. Grinding: Funnily enough, an angle grinder is also good at grinding! Grinding discs come in metal and stone varieties, and are usually 5mm thick. These types of disc are among the cheapest you can buy since they do not generally have to be super hard to grind a material. Even so, it is best to buy ones with diamond edges since they are very affordable these days, and will last a lot longer than cheaper pads!

There are many other uses for these amazing power tools, and some of them are not so obvious.

One of the types of coffee grinder is the manual coffee grinder. This type of grinder does not use electricity to power up the grinder. You will need your bare hand to move the bowl which coffee beans are put into. Upon doing this, the coffee beans are beginning to break up until ground and be ready for brewing.

Manual coffee grinder also has benefits. Other than having prolonged whiff of aroma smell, this type of grinder can also be used to places without electricity. Since the manual grinder needs not to use electric power it is advisable to use this whenever you are on a camping trip or the best alternative for coffee machines whenever there is outage of power in the area.

Power outage always happens during seasons with more typhoons. During this time you can still enjoy having fresh great tasting coffee. This will help you ease yourself and relax. Furthermore, manual coffee grinder gives you the benefit of saving energy cost. It is then important to have it at your home.

People may easily give in to some devices which offer automatic functionality. We tend to be fonder of using those types of machines since it eases our everyday work and yet it could definitely give us satisfaction to results. But in reality, having the traditional way of doing things can actually give us more sense of responsibility and keep us from being dependent to machines as such. It also makes us more enthusiastic and lively because we tend to extend more effort in a task.

This makes a manual coffee grinder an essential aspect to making freshly grinded coffee beans. Nevertheless, resulting to a high-quality and great tasting coffee.

Best Coffee Grinder Under 100 Dollars - Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder Review

This article is directed at people who are on a budget, and will provide you with my recommendation on the best coffee grinder under 100 dollars. Although there are a few good coffee grinders in this price range, I would recommend the Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder if you're looking to get the most bang for you buck.

What is a Burr Grinder?

Many people who are new to the home coffee making world may not be accustomed to the types of coffee grinders on the market. There arebasically two types of coffee grinders: burr and blade grinders.

Blade grinders are small, portable, and cheap. Inside a blade grinder is a blade that spins at high speeds to chop up the coffee. However, they are not very good at grinding coffee beans. The spinning blade often burns the coffee beans, producing a distinct "burnt" odor. Plus the resulting coffee grind is not very consistent or uniform.

Burr grinders are miles ahead of blade grinders in terms of quality. Inside are two metal plates that rub together producing a consistent and uniform coffee grind. Although the price for these grinder varies quite drastically, this article will only discuss the Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder, a budget-priced grinder.

What is the CapressoInfinity Burr Grinder

The Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder is a good quality coffee grinder that features a zinc die-cast housing and commercial grade conical burrs. Its comparatively high quality makes it (in my opinion) the best coffee grinder under 100 dollars.

It features 16 grind settings, from coarse to fine, thus giving you good versatility for your coffee making needs. The onboard timer (something you don't usually see in budget-priced grinders) allows you to grind coffee for a predetermined amount of time, from between 5 and 60 seconds.

The biggest strengths with the Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder are its solid build construction, timer, and great grinding capabilities. It does a great job grinding regular coffee and will probably last you a long time.

The biggest weakness with the Capresso Infinity Grinder is its inability to grind well for espresso. Although it is better to use this grinder than none at all, its ability to produce a fine enough grind for espresso is a little weak. This is probably attributed to only 4 "fine" settings, which does not give you enough adjustability to really hone in on the best espresso grind.

Conclusion

Finding the best coffee grinder under 100 dollars need not be a difficult task if you know what to look for. The Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder is one of the best grinders on the market, and is perfect for grinding coffee beans for drip coffee.

Stainless Steel Herb Grinder

Stainless Steel Herb Grinder

I have had mine since 1997 (or maybe 1996?), Stainless Steel Herb Grinder when it cost a hefty $50 or so. I used it almost every day for a long time, for coffee. I got lazy a couple years ago & started using already ground coffee, so it was relegated to a high cupboard.

It has resumed a prominent place in my kitchen, as I have discovered the joy of cooking fresh, organic food for my growing family. I now use it for nuts, seeds and grains! I was using other grinders, then got a clue, pulled this out and VOILA! I am SOO impressed with it's simple design, speed, durability, Stainless Steel Herb Grinder versatility AND it's not as noisy as other grinders/blenders (I do my best work late at night, after the bumpkin is asleep).

In my very practical, no-frills little kitchen, this is a handsome, functional product that I have enjoyed for many years, and it has proved itself to be a great purchase.
